Remote Learning for isolating pupils
If your child is unable to attend school for 1 or more days due to covid-19, their learning can continue at home using the ‘Remote Learning Timetables’ (below) for your child’s year group. Please note that if the entire year group bubble needs to isolate, the remote learning will be shared again using Seesaw.
Please note: As has always been the case, if your child is ill (due to either covid or non-covid related illnesses), then they should concentrate instead on getting better! However, if your child is self-isolating or awaiting test results and is feeling well in themselves, then these resources are here for you and will help to ensure that your child doesn’t miss out on their learning.
For those pupils with internet access at home:
Below this text, you will find that your child's year group team have uploaded a ‘Remote Learning Timetable’. This document contains a timetable of learning that will cover up to 10 days, initially, which includes links to lessons that your child can complete. This will include daily maths, writing and reading activities alongside sessions based on areas of the wider curriculum. Simply open the document for your year group and click the links to access the activities.
Many of the sessions are linked to the ‘Oak National Academy’, who have created high-quality lessons that include teaching videos to assist with the learning of new content. These lessons include tasks to complete and a quiz that also provides the pupils with very useful feedback.
The pupils can record their work in their home learning book or any other paper you have available at home. If you don’t have any paper available, we have put some exercise books into the school foyer next to the main school office which you are welcome to collect at your convenience. Upon returning to school, the pupils can hand this work in to their teacher, who will reward them for their hard work with dojos (our in-school reward system).
*Again, please note that if the entire year group bubble needs to isolate, the remote learning will be shared again using Seesaw.
For those pupils who do not have internet access at home:
For those pupils who are unable to access our online remote learning timetables, we may be able to provide you with a device/internet access to support you. Alternatively, we can provide textbooks for your child to work through. Again, upon returning to school, the pupils can hand their work in to their teacher, who will reward them for their hard work with dojos (our in-school reward system). Please contact the office if you are unable to access the Remote Learning online.
If you need resources from school but your household are all isolating, please ask a member of your friends or family group, who do not live within your household, to collect the resources for you.
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
