About this curriculum
Computational thinking will help better prepare pupils to understand the consequences of technological change in the future and be able to adapt to use new technologies as they are developed.
Children will be taught the principles of how digital systems work and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. The children will be equipped to use a range of information technology proficiently to solve problems. The children will become digitally literate and be able to use, express themselves and develop their ideas through IT. This will allow all children to become active participants in a digital world.
At Cockington, children will become safe citizens online, who question the validity and reliability of information accessed. They will show positive behaviours online and will understand where to go for concerns. The children will be able to identify the next steps in reducing future possible dangers and also consider their own privacy and the privacy of others in a range of settings.
