Well done to our values award winners this week!

Our school council visited Mr C's care home today. We decorated biscuits together and sang some carols. It was a lovely experience and got us in the Christmas spirit! Thank you so much for inviting us!

Congratulations to our performing arts group who sang and performed enthusiastically at Homequay House care home this week. Thank you for inviting us, we really enjyoed it!

We had our Christmas Rocksteady concert today. We were treated to an amazing concert where all the children showed off their hard work and brilliant musical skills. Well done to everyone!

Yesterday, some members of Performing Arts Club performed some lovely Christmas songs at the Mercure hotel in Paignton for their Christmas fair. The children were wonderful, as always, and were a credit to the school as they spread Christmas cheer for all to hear.

Anabel in Year 6 raised money for Rowcroft by making and selling sea glass pictures. What an inspirational young lady! Well done Anabel, they look amazing and all for a fantastic cause!

📚 Rock Up and Read – Year 6 📚 Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful Rock Up and Read event last week! It was lovely to see parents, carers and family members join us at the end of the day to relax together and get lost in a good book in the hall. A huge thank you to everyone who was able to come along and help create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Your support means so much to the children and to us!

Christmas started on Sunday when the Performing Arts Club performed a medley of Christmas songs at the Grand Hotel. They were amazing and a real credit to the school. They have a few more performances to go, including at the Mecure Hotel in Paignton on Saturday, so catch them if you can!

Year 2 really enjoyed their Rock Up And Read event yesterday. Thank you to all the parents and carers who came to support the children with their reading journey.

Once again, we are joining forces with Rowcroft to raise money for all of the amazing work they do in the local area, supporting those who need care. We will be joining in with the Rudolph Run during the last week in school in December, wearing our festive reindeer antlers to help raise some money for this worthy cause. We are working in partnership with the Rotary Club to raise money for our gardening club. In order to help us, we are helping them by advertising their upcoming antiques fair. Please see the details below.

Our Digital Ambassadors had a fantastic day representing Cockington at a Lego robotics event at South Devon College with other Connect schools! 🌟 The team spent the morning exploring the Lego Education kits and programming their robot, before tackling the obstacle course in the afternoon. They showed brilliant perseverance and collaboration — two of our core values — and were awarded the Best Presented Award for their robot and teamwork! 🏆 Well done to our ambassadors for their creativity, enthusiasm and hard work! 🎉

We enjoyed dressing and spots and bright coloured clothing today to help to raise money for Children in Need. The children completed a challenge set by the school council. The theme was '25'. The school council set each year group a challenge to complete 25 of an activity. Some classes managed this, some didn't because of the pouring rain outside! Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed raising money for a great cause!

Messy club started last week and it certainly lived up to its name! Thank you to Mrs Taylor-Roberts and Miss Burton for running the club. We look forward to this week's instalment!

Even though the rain and clouds meant no heading outside tonight, our Year 6 pupils still shone bright during their Stargazing Event! 💫 They explored the planets and their orbits, created stunning galaxy art, and discovered the many sides of the Moon! 🪐🎨 A huge thank you to the amazing members of Torbay Astronomical Society for giving up their time to share their stellar knowledge with us.🌟
