The children who came to Young Voices in Birmingham NEC were amazing! They were a credit to the school and their families and we are very proud of them. Over 6000 children performed in total and the atmosphere was electric. We loved joining children from the other schools in Connect Academy Trust and singing and dancing with them as well.

Thank you to McCarthy contractors who have donated some pallets, cable reels and pipes for us to use in our OPAL play. The children have already got great ideas for their use after they have been checked over by our caretaker Mr Coles.☑️
We are always after resources and equipment for our play, so if you think you can donate anything, please let us know. We are also hoping someone might be able to build us a pallet mud kitchen for our den area. If you think you might be able to help, then please get in touch!🔨

Year 2 had a fantastic learning experience this week with a special visit from a nurse! As part of their history learning, the children have been exploring the question “How has nursing changed over time?”
Our visitor helped bring this learning to life by talking about modern nursing, sharing equipment, and answering lots of thoughtful questions. The children loved comparing nursing today with how it was in the past and gained a real insight into how the role has developed over time.
A big thank you to our visitor for such an engaging and inspiring session!

We will keep you updated about how we are spending this generous donation. Thank you very much Rotary Club!
If you are able to help with any gardening or building, we would be very grateful - we would love a pallet kitchen in our den building area!

🚀 Out of this world learning! 🌍✨
This half term, our Year 6 children have been exploring the wonders of space and have created fantastic learning portfolios showcasing everything they’ve discovered.
Yesterday, they shared their work with the Year 5 pupils, and it was truly stellar to see the care, effort, and pride that went into each portfolio 🌌
The Year 5 children were over the moon to welcome their visitors, and the appreciation shown made the experience even more special 🌙💫

In Year 1 with Miss Owens as part of our Jigsaw lessons this half term the children have created a gingerbread man based around identifying similarities between people in their class, and also understanding bullying, who the children can talk to and how we can be kind to others. The children have produced amazing work in their books and as an end of term treat they made their own gingerbread man and decorated with a lot of sugary treats! A lot of creative Colins!🍬🎄🤎 Merry Christmas from the year 1 team 🎅

Some Year 6 ambassadors went to spread some Christmas magic and cheer at Beechmount House Residential Home today. We very warmly welcomed and were treated to some fantastic goodies. The children and residents made and decorated gingerbread men. They also made a huge paperchain to decorate their dining room. The children got a goodie bag each to take home, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the team. We look forward to a return visit, and wish eveyone a merry Christmas!🎅
